Shungite is basically a very pure form of Carbon, Precambrian carbonaceous rock of organic origin, which had been found only in the area around Karelia, Russia.  Its name comes from the small village of Shunga where it was first discovered. Scientists estimate the age of Shungite to be approximately 2 billion years.

Shungite is conductive & a very interesting mineral that can also be used for water purification. It is said to be beneficial in reducing EMF / Radio & Cell Phone Radiation. There are some articles on this in lab experiments on the NIH website. 3 Types of Shungite : Noble Shungite is very conductive and is the highest grade but is generally only available in rough chunks or slabs. Petrovsky Shungite is silvery black and used for jewelry, Regular Grade is used for most Jewelry & Carvings, this has some silver veins and streaks seen. Thank you for choosing IVC.
