Trapiche Rubies consist of six ruby sections that are delineated by “arms” resulting in a fixed six-rayed “star” pattern, some more defined than others. Trapiche is the Spanish word for a spoked wheel used to grind sugar cane which bears a striking resemblance to the pattern in these rubies.
