Shungite is basically a very pure form of Carbon, Precambrian carbonaceous rock of organic origin, which had been found only in Russia, Karelia, Lake Onega area. Its name comes from the small village of Shunga where it was first discovered. Scientists estimate the age of shungite to be approximately 2 billion years. It is conductive & a very interesting mineral that can be used for water purification & is said to be beneficial against EMF / Radio & Cell Phone Radiation.

You may see silver streaks or chips running throughout Shungite, these are small pieces of "Petrovsky" Shungite running through the regular shungite, it is sometimes mixed. These are not "cracks" or damage. We make sure to quality control everything. Minor imperfections may be present, it is the nature of this stone.

*These are strung on quality stretch cord, they will last if you do not PULL / Overstretch them, and take them on and off properly, during sleep, shower, etc. Not recommended for children.
